House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch is Back!

The new House of Blues Anaheim is pleased to introduce a reimagined Gospel Brunch experience each Sunday of the month. A new Southern inspired soulful menu features signature brunch dishes and live action carving and omelet stations. The electrifying, uplifting and unprecedented gospel show is unlike any other brunch experience available. Gospel Brunch is perfect for families, visitors and special celebrations.

Open just over three months, the new mothership of the House of Blues chain in Anaheim looks better every time I see it. After an impressive grand opening in an amazing building, the place is starting to look settled in all the right ways. Bright and early on a Sunday is not my usual arrival time for things happening here, but today is different, as it’s time for the weekly World Famous Gospel Brunch.

The doors opened at 10:30am, and we filed into toward the main hall. Seating is assigned, so we waited just a couple minutes to be taken to one of five long banquet tables perpendicular to the stage. With some rail seating around the perimeter, the hall appears to seat about 160 people.

Behind the tables, a long row chafing dishes filled with breakfast staples like bacon, eggs, biscuits & gravy, and southern favorites such as barbecue chicken, mac & cheese, and chicken jambalaya offer more good eating than most folks can handle. Add to that a carving station, a pastry table, a salad bar, and a custom omelet chef standing by, and nobody is going home hungry.

The live entertainment portion of the programming kicked in just after 11am, comprised of a four-piece band and six vocalists. Within minutes, they’ve got folks on their feet waving their napkins in the air, as they roll through both traditional gospel tracks, and gospelized version of popular soul songs, keeping everyone engaged through more than an hour of raising he roof.  Like everything else I have experienced at the new House of Blues, the Sunday Gospel lunch was executed with a high level of finesse, class and culinary delight.  Get your tickets today, you won’t be disappointed.
